Cairn

Why do people climb mountains? Because they are there. The mountain is calling. A mountain is also synonymous with seemingly insurmountable obstacles in life – a metaphor, in other words. In this game, we play the mountaineer Aava as she climbs the never-before-conquered, extremely dangerous, fictional Mount Kami. As players, we have to place our hands and feet individually, maintain our balance and manage resources such as stamina, hunger and thirst. The whole thing is a climbing simulator, a slow-paced, emotionally intense hero’s journey that tells a story of self-discovery and obsession. The word cairn comes from Scottish Gaelic (càrn) and literally means ‘pile of stones’ – a fitting title :-) There’s a photo mode here too! Developer:The Game Bakers, Publisher:The Game Bakers
